In honor of International Women’s Day (March 8), Oscar-winning and activist Angelina Jolie made a photo shoot with two of her daughters for the March issue of Elle and is starring on its cover.
The 42-year-old Hollywood actress and director posed alongside her daughters Shiloh, 11, and Vivienne, 9, and revealed one of the life lessons she strives to pass on to her girls.
One of the pieces of advice she gives her daughters Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 11, and Vivienne, 9, is contained in the following statement by Jolie, interviewed by former Secretary of State John Kerry for Elle magazine:
“I tell my daughters, ‘What sets you apart is what you are willing to do for others. Anyone can put on a dress and makeup. It’s your mind that will define you. Find out who you are, what you think, and what you stand for. And fight for others to have those same freedoms. A life of service is worth living.’ ”
The famous actress added further:
“I think of how hard women fought to get us to where we are today. Everything counts, from the way you hold yourself in your daily life and educate yourself on your own rights, to solidarity with other women around the world.”
How can you not love this amazing woman? Speaking of myself, I simply adore her and her beautiful mind! Thank you Angelina for your wise pearls.
